Biographical history

Carlos Ominami (Santiago, 18 de junio de 1950). Doctor de Estado en economía, ingeniero comercial y político independiente, ex militante del Partido Socialista de Chile. Senador por la 5ª Circunscripción Cordillera, Región de Valparaíso, entre 1994 y 2010 por dos periodos consecutivos. Ministro de Economía, Fomento y Reconstrucción, entre el 11 de marzo de 1990 y el 28 de septiembre de 1992, en el gobierno del Presidente Patricio Aylwin Azócar.
