Fue titular de tres carteras de Estado, además de presidente del Banco Central de Chile. Es el único miembro del primer gabinete de Eduardo Frei Montalva que aún permanece con vida.

Enrique Silva Cimma. (Iquique, 11 de noviembre de 1918-Santiago, 14 de julio de 2012). Abogado, académico y político del Partido Radical Socialdemócrata. Senador designado por el periodo 1998-2006, en su calidad de ex contralor general de la República. Ministro de Relaciones Exteriores del gobierno de Patricio Aylwin Azócar. Profesor Emérito de la Universidad de Chile.
